Frankincense comes from the sap of Boswellia trees, such as B. sacra, B. frereana, and B. serrata. 



Form



Hardened frankincense is called benzoid, which comes from the Arabic word for sweet-smelling sap.

Frankincense contains various ingredients, such as benzoic acid, styrol, vanillin, styracin, coniferyl benzoate, coniferyl sinamate, benzoeresinol resin, and suma resinotannol.
