Corn is very popular with livestock, fulfills the requirements as an energy source, is easy to store, easy to produce on a large scale, easy to use with other food ingredients, and yellow corn is a good source of carotene. The disadvantage of corn is that it is deficient in protein content, so it must always be used together with a protein source such as meal or legume forage.



1. Corn Seeds. Giving new livestock corn cobs using concentrate as a safer energy source



2. Corn straw as ruminant feed is widely used, especially as a substitute source of fiber or replacing 50% of grass or forage. The use of corn straw must be balanced with the provision of concentrate, so that livestock needs can be met.



3. Corn cobs have a high crude fiber content, are low in crude protein, minerals, vitamins, and do not contain carotene, so that when used, they need to be supplemented with feed ingredients that are sources of protein, energy and minerals in order to meet the basic living needs and growth of ruminant livestock.



4. Corn husks  can be used as food for ruminants. Apart from that, corn husks or husks can be used as the main ingredient for bioethanol. Klobot contains 2 types of sugar, namely glucose and silose which are obtained by initial boiling and then hydrolysis.



5. Corn plant waste can also be used for feed, but only for ruminants because of its high fiber content.
