Indonesia's territory is located at the confluence of tectonic plates and is also surrounded by oceans, some of these things make Indonesia's territory has various kinds of mineral, metal, and rock contents. These various mining products can be used as export commodities as well as for domestic use, one of which is copper.

The main industrial uses of copper are for the production of cables, wires, electrical products for both the electrical and building industries, pipes for heating and ventilation piping, and building wire and sheet metal coatings. Copper has also become one of the main components of cellphone, computer, electronics, and even jewelry equipment.

Indonesia has exported copper which has the HS code 260300 to other countries. The increase in the volume and value of exports of copper products occurred due to various factors. In addition, Indonesia also exports copper derivative products.
